Past Students Work

EDIT 01/03/12
I have been able to look at a few past students work and have been able to take into consideration of what makes a good production, and this has also given me the opportunity to think about the quality of work I will need to produce as well to achieve the high marks and they have also given me the opportunity to realise the mistakes that I could make and end up losing marks. Also by looking at the each of the videos of past students I was able to identify what made them great and achieve the high marks they did.

Film Trailer - Confession
Received a __ grade because of its different settings church, back alley etc. The use of lighting to signify important events like the master shot of the boy in the hills was really bright because of its natural lighting and everywhere else it was dark, shows the audience that the hills scene is crucial to the plot of the trailer. The props and the synchronised sounds of the guns straight away tell you its genre;

Documentary - Getting into Stardom
This documentary was a grade D, and it was about the life of a young girl and her passion for dancing. The video had started off nicely and shows that they had put thought into by adding/creating their own sponsor to add realism into, it also had a lot of different camera shots like long shots to quick shots, the editing of the video had been good and the effects and great use of location. But it was let down by the poor volume of the speech and the pix elated quality of the camera, which sort of made it a bore to watch  also during the speech the song was too loud even though it went greatly with the look of the scenes before it.

Film Trailer - Red Nation
Is a B grade production because of the creative skills that went into creating it like the professional look of the logo in the beginning which puts starts it off at a great start and keeps on improving throughout the trailer, the settings, soundtrack, props, edits and camera use like the hand held camera which adds realism and involves the audience into the action. The trailer also uses the conventions of a horror film like news at the beginning, the stance and walk of the zombies and a bit of comedy to lighten up the mood it a bit more.

  1. Have look at the first paragraph of this post - it appears unfinished.
